About Kaka
Ricardo Izecson do Santos Leite, better known as Kaka (childhood nickname) is the attacking midfielder who plays for Real Madrid and the Brazilian National Team. Kaka is often mentioned as one of the best footballers in the world, and in 2007 he was chosen by the reporters and coaches as the best players (Kaka won Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player). Most people think that Kaka is a striker because he often scores, but Kaka is actually an attacking midfielder and he likes to start the action away from the goal.

Kaká was born in Brasilia, Brazil on April 22, 1982. When he was 8 years old, Kaka joined the Sa Paulo FC Youth Academy. And seven years after joining Sao Paulo, Kaka signed a contract as a professional player. His debut was amazing; Kaka scored two goals in two minutes to Botafogo and giving Sao Paulo the Rio-Sao Paulo Cup.

Kaka Professional Football Career
Sao Paulo FC
2001: Kaka's first year in Sao Paulo, Kaka to take part in the Youth Sao Paulo Cup without playing. Critics said” Fun to see Kaka playing, but he could not compete in the important games”. No one believes in Kaka, except his coach. And the coach was right: 27 games and 12 goals in his first professional season.

2002: Seasons in which the name of Kaka became famous and caught European Clubs attention. Kaka scored 10 goals in 22 appearances, and made his debut at the Brazil National Team.

2003: Only a few games for Sao Paulo FC, as in June, Kaka signed a contract with AC Milan for 8.5 million Euro. Over in Sao Paulo, Kaka has been playing for 146 times and scoring 58 goals.

2003 - 2004: Kaka to join AC Milan in the middle of doubt the fans. They said, "We already have Rivaldo and Rui Costa, maybe we'd need a defender".

But that does not prevent Kaka to become an idol: His two assist to Shevchenko in his debut in Serie A, and his first goal in a derby won 2-0 over FC Internazionale. AC Milan won the Serie A title this season, and Kaka was awarded with the “Oscar del Calcio” as Serie A footballer of the year.
2004-2005: This season is beginning with the Italian Super Cup, in which Kaka contribute when AC Milan win over SS Lazio. The first part of the season was not Kaka’s best, but in the second half Kaka shows some great games. Especially in Champions League where AC Milan reached the final in Istanbul against Liverpool. Kaka played a great first half, but the game must end with penalty shootouts which were won by Liverpool.

2005-2006: the third season Kaka at AC Milan. Even though the club didn’t win anything, Ricardo Kaka played at his highest levels. Kaka made his first Hat-trick in Serie A when Milan win over Chievo. In this season Kaka rewarded as “Serie A Foreign Player of the Year”.

Juni 3, 2009: Kaka completed his move to the Real Madrid with the transfer fee of 68.5 Million Euro, which is currently the third highest transfer in football history ever.

Kaka at Brazil National Football Team
Kaka made his debut with Brazil National Team on January 31st, 2002 when Brazil win over Bolivia 6-0. At the time, Kaka was considered a substitute by Coach Felipe Scolari.
World Cup 2002: Kaka only played for 18 minutes in the match Brazil - Costa Rica, a group game in which Brazil is already qualified for the Last 16.


World Cup 2006: Brazil was a favourite, and not only because they were title holders. They had the “Fab Four” in attack, Kaká, Adriano, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. Unfortunately, Brazil had a big disappointment, as they were knocked-out by France in quarter-finals. The “Fab Four” failed, just Kaká played well. He also scored a goal to Croatia, during the Group Stage.
