And today is the FIFA World Cup 2010 opening day. Nelson Mandela will be personally opening the event, and more than 1,500 performers will be present for the ceremony. The ceremony expected to last upwards of three hours, to be immediately followed by the opening match between South Africa and Mexico, which kicks off at 4:00 pm at Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg (7:00 am PST).
